I spend some time today replacing KeyCloak with authentik. A few noticeable differences:

I have KeyCloak deployed for multiple customers. But its enterprise background shows. A lot. The simplicity of authentik is refreshing.

I did not make it through all of the configuration options yet. I would like to setup some rules to enforce multi factor authentication being setup when logging in the first time. One of the things to do before rolling it out.

Before going all in on it I am also planning to take a look at the code first. It is still relatively young project compared to KeyCloak, a few more eyes on the code surely will not hurt.

But the first impression is excellent, especially the cost (as in time to have a production ready setup) benefit for home and smb setups.
