iPad Pro for Everything

Frederico always was the person to follow when you were looking for ways to use your iPad as your primary computing device. I believe peak commitment was his hybrid Mac-iPad. But it looks like he finally managed to work around all the limitations and make it work. 12 years in. And how? By adding more external hardware.

I gave up on the iPad. I tired carrying the iPad mini as my daily companion. I used my iPad to write software and was decently happy with the experience. But at some point the setup just got in my way. Especially with easy things like sharing a window on a Zoom call. Sure, you can make it work. But it is a tedious process.

I am more than willing to give this another shot if Apple ever decides to change course and let me boot macOS. Or makes multitasking on the iPad less... horrible. I like the iPad. I like the idea of traveling only with it. But as long as the software ecosystem does not change I will simply stick to my MacBook Air 15" till it dies.

I do not even expect things like dual monitor support. Something my M2 Pro can do just fine. At least I can connect a single ProDisplay XDR by now. To look at an oversized window. sigh
